Functional Diversity and Its Influencing Factors in a Subtropical Forest Community in China

چکیده

Functional diversity is considered a key link between ecosystem functions and biodiversity, forms the basis for making community conservation strategies. Here, we chose subtropical forest in China as research object, which unique that other regions of world at same latitude have almost no vegetation cover. We measured 17 functional traits 100 plant species calculated seven different indices, based on richness, evenness, divergence. found most indices significantly differed with habit. There was significant positive correlation among richness indices. However, divergence multidimensional (FDiv), Rao’s quadratic entropy index (RaoQ) were negatively correlated, RaoQ (FDis) uncorrelated. The correlations three types (richness, divergence) different. Lineage regression results generally showed (Average distance (MFAD), volume (FRic) Posteriori group (FGR)) increased (species (S), Shannon-Wiener (H) Pielou (E)). evenness (FEve) decreased (Pielou (E)), but change trends small. All declined altitude, although altitude had weak influence them. Other environmental factors affected community. soil total phosphorus (TP) critical factor convex least effect our These will contribute to understanding forests, provide biodiversity this region.

Temporal variations of benthic diatom community and its main influencing factors in a subtropical river, China.

Benthic diatoms are the main component in many aquatic ecosystems such as streams, creeks and rivers, and they function as important primary producers and chemical modulators for other organisms in the ecosystems. In this study, the composition of benthic diatoms was investigated and further explored the primary physicals and chemicals affecting their temporal variations in the upper Han River,...

Beta diversity determinants in Badagongshan, a subtropical forest in central China

Niche and neutral theories emphasize different processes contributing to the maintenance of species diversity. In this study, we calculated the local contribution to beta diversity (LCBD) of every cell, using variation partitioning in combination with spatial distance and environmental variables of the 25-ha Badagongshan plot (BDGS), to determine the contribution of environmentally-related vari...

Partitioning beta diversity in a subtropical broad-leaved forest of China.

The classical environmental control model assumes that species distribution is determined by the spatial variation of underlying habitat conditions. This niche-based model has recently been challenged by the neutral theory of biodiversity which assumes that ecological drift is a key process regulating species coexistence. Understanding the mechanisms that maintain biodiversity in communities cr...
